Mountain Top Golf Club Wedding

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute joy of second shooting a wedding in the mountains of North Carolina with my sweet friend Katie Williams — and let me tell you, it was one of those days that just felt good from the very start.

Katie is one of my favorite people to work with. She’s calm, kind, insanely creative, and just has this way of making everyone around her feel at ease. I always leave shoots with her feeling so inspired and grateful — not just for the work we get to do, but for the community we get to do it with. Honestly, one of the best parts of being a photographer is connecting with other creatives who are just as passionate about this work as I am. It's such a gift.

When I arrived at the venue (which was tucked away in the most gorgeous part of the North Carolina mountains), I knew we were in for a beautiful day. The couple had rented two nearby houses — one for the bride and her girls, and one for the groom and his crew — so everyone could enjoy getting ready together. It made the whole morning feel like a little pre-wedding party. There was music playing, champagne flowing, and so much laughter. It really set the tone for the whole day — laid-back, full of love, and so much fun.

The ceremony took place out on a rolling golf course with the most stunning mountain views. Picture this: bright green hills, a light breeze, and a floral arbor bursting with vibrant colors right behind the couple. It was the kind of view that makes you stop for a second and just take it all in. Their vows were sweet and heartfelt (yes, I teared up a little), and the joy radiating from them was contagious.

Afterward, guests headed up to the country club for cocktail hour, and the couple seriously thought of everything. From the largest sushi bar I’ve ever seen at a wedding to baskets of cozy slippers for the dance floor, every detail was planned with their guests in mind. It was clear they wanted everyone to feel comfortable and celebrated — and it worked. People were mingling, laughing, dancing all around!

And while I’m definitely biased and still stand by the fact that I have the best couples ever, I have to give it up to Katie and her people — they’re just as amazing! Watching how her couples light up around her and trust her so fully reminded me how much of this job is about connection. I really do believe that the couples we work with reflect who we are as people. When you pour your heart into your work, it draws in the kindest, most joyful humans — and it makes documenting their stories even more meaningful.

This day was such a perfect reminder of that. Beautiful scenery, incredible people, and a whole lot of love. I left with a full memory card and an even fuller heart.

Big hugs to Katie for bringing me along — I’m so lucky to know you and call you a friend. And to this amazing couple: thank you for letting me be a small part of your day. It was such an honor to witness the love you share.

Here’s to more mountain weddings, creative friendships, and couples who make this job feel like the best thing ever!!!
