Alex, Gi, and Isla
On a sweet, Sunday in March, I was lucky enough to have some of my very best friends stop in. They live 5 hours away, so it was the best treat that doesn’t get to occur nearly often enough.
I began working with Dr. Alex when he first found out that he was going to be a dad! Just nine short months later Miss Isla arrived! With busy schedules and a big move, I never had the opportunity to capture their sweet family until now! The timeline lined up perfectly and they stopped by just a couple weeks before Isla Jane’s 1st birthday!!! - I had to throw in the middle name, because we are middle name twins, and I absolutely love it!
We took some sweet photos of them on my couch, just interacting. We let Isla play with toys, had her stunning mommy, Gianna, snuggle her, had dad toss her in the air, and even took the cutest polaroid photos. Isla was in LOVE with the polaroid! I think it’s safe to say we may have another photographer in the future.
After all the inside fun we headed to my front porch. I had set up a little backdrop and we let Isla dig into her first birthday cupcake! (scroll to the very bottom of this blog for all of the early birthday fun!) It was the cutest and funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. She was so serious with every bite. When he parents tried to take the wrapper from her, she made it very clear that she wanted it back. This little girl wanted all the crumbs! I can’t blame her, I had one or two of the cupcakes left over and they were chef’s kiss! After finishing her cupcake, she was SO smiley!
I was seriously having the best time through the entire process of capturing these photos and editing them. Watching friends turn into the best parents of the smiliest little ray of sunshine is just the most heartwarming feeling. I will never get over this family or this career that allows me to hold on to these mundane moments that feel so special.
