Miss Lyla decided to make her appearance twenty days early, and we are so glad she did! She arrived on the first day of 2024! As a Capricorn and holiday baby myself, I thought that was pretty cool of her!

I get to photograph a good amount of sweet families, but this session was extra special because it's my boyfriend's! - He is the handsome guy in the red pullover in the last photo. Baby Lyla loves her Uncle Jake & I think he's pretty great too!

Jake's superstar sister, Becky + her rockstar husband, Andy, welcomed me into their home and we were able to capture so many simple yet magical moments!

I love newborn family photos because I get to look around and show you areas with nice lighting and angles, that you may have never noticed before. I will of course use my photography knowledge to put you in the most complementary spots. However, I will never rush the in-between moments and will continue to capture those as well. There is nothing more precious than the natural connection between baby and their parents in the mundane moments, so those are a must for me. This method of photography provides a perfect blend of capturing genuine family time and professional, timeless heirlooms, so that's just what we did.

I am beyond grateful for a career that allows me into such pure seasons of life and I can't wait to take many more photos of this sweet family through all of them! From Lyla arriving twenty days early, to moving with a newborn, and all the other craziness of being new parents... I have had the honor of watching these humans grow, adapt, and inspire others without even realizing it. I just know that their little family will always continue to be such an amazing light to anyone they encounter and I am beyond thankful that I get to be around to soak it all in and occasionally capture pieces of their beautiful story.
