Wedding Weekend to Remember | Maggie & Christian in Atlanta, GA

Some weddings leave a lasting imprint on your heart, and this one—Maggie and Christian’s—will stay with me forever. From the very first call to the final hug goodbye, this couple made me feel like part of the family. It was a privilege to not only witness their love but to capture it in a way that reflects just how special their day truly was.

Wedding weekend kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia, where I met Maggie at her hotel. She had reserved a spacious conference room to get ready with her absolutely incredible glam team from Make Me Up Georgia, and her 12 stunning bridesmaids. Yes, twelve! The energy was high, the laughter was loud, and the love was abundant.

While her florals were already en route to the church, we went for a clean, editorial-style flat-lay for her details. I was swooning over everything—custom champagne bottles, elegant invitations, personalized napkins, and chic signage—all designed by the insanely talented Lizzy Sutton. Every piece was so thoughtfully curated that even simplicity felt extravagant.

Once everyone was glammed up and glowing, we made our way to The Cathedral of Christ the King in downtown Atlanta. Maggie stepped into her dress and… wow. She was absolutely breathtaking. Her dad’s emotional first look was as heart-melting as you’d expect, and yes, there were definitely some happy tears from all of us.

The ceremony itself was held in the cathedral, which has its own set of photography rules. Every church is different, and this is where having a photographer who’s familiar with (or proactive about learning) venue protocols is key. Maggie, Christian, and I had a call beforehand to walk through the limitations and plan for how we’d still make the most of every moment. I’m thrilled with how the photos turned out—timeless, reverent, and full of emotion.

After the “I do’s,” it was time to party—and the celebration started with a party bus ride to a nearby park for wedding party photos. There’s something magical about golden hour light and a bunch of friends hyped up on love and champagne!

The evening continued at The Foxglove, just a short ride away. Maggie and Christian took a few quiet moments to sip their drinks, grab a bite, and soak it all in. Then we wandered outside for some just-married portraits. Their sweet pup, Haddie, joined us, and it turned into the most adorable little family stroll. That walk down the street was pure joy, and one of my favorite parts of the whole day.

As the night unfolded, the energy never dipped. First dances led into heartfelt toasts, and then… the dance floor exploded. I always say there are three secrets to keeping the dance floor alive:

  1. Hire a great DJ.
  2. Hand out fun props—think sunglasses, glow sticks, cowboy hats.
  3. Stay on the dance floor! (When the couple is out there having a blast, everyone follows.)

Let me tell you, Maggie and Christian nailed all three!

I still can’t get over how full of life, love, and intention their day was. I’m endlessly thankful for the trust they gave me—not just to document everything, but to be part of it. Every wedding reminds me why I love this job, but couples like these? They’re the reason I call this my dream job.

Maggie and Christian, it has been an honor being your friend and thank you for being the most genuine, kind, joy-filled people. Cheering for you always and can’t wait to watch your love story continue to flourish!
