Greigestone at the Ridge, North Greenville, SC
Every once in a while, a wedding reminds you just how beautifully life can come full circle—and for me, that was Mary Margaret and Corey’s day.
I met Mary Margaret during her first year at North Greenville University, back when we were both bright-eyed broadcast media majors. It was a small program, which meant we had nearly every class together. Over the years, I had a front-row seat to watching her grow into the confident, talented sports reporter she is today. Cheering her on through that journey has been such a gift—but there’s one thing that never changed, not once: her love for Corey.
Since I’ve known Mary Margaret, she’s been completely head-over-heels for her best friend—and it was always obvious that Corey felt the same. Watching their relationship from the beginning made photographing their wedding even more meaningful.
Before I started Sydney Jane Photos, I worked for a photography company that provided all the gear I used. When I finally made the leap to go solo, one of the first couples I reached out to for a styled shoot was Mary Margaret and Corey. I was figuring out a new camera, testing prompts, building my portfolio, and these two were so patient and supportive through all of it. It meant the world then, and honestly? It still does.
Fast forward four years, and I got the sweetest message: Mary Margaret wanted me to photograph her wedding. I was floored. Those early photos from that first shoot? Definitely not my finest work (though I’m going to try to dig them up and include them at the end of this post!). But she believed in me. She had watched my work evolve, had seen my growth, and still chose me to capture her biggest day yet - and what a day it was.
Everything about their wedding was breathtaking—from the heartfelt ceremony to the joyful celebration that followed. It was one of those events where you could truly feel the history and love, not just between the couple, but from everyone in the room. Plus, getting our old nerdy broadcast cohort back together again? Absolutely priceless.
Mary Margaret and Corey, thank you for being part of my journey before I even knew where it would lead. Thank you for trusting me with your memories, for letting me step into your story in such a special way, and for reminding me why I love this work so deeply. Your love has always been steady, sweet, and inspiring—and getting to document it was nothing short of an honor.
Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and a love story that was always meant to be.
With so much love,
Sydney
P.S. Stay tuned—those early styled shoot photos are on their way! Let’s take a walk down memory lane together. 📸
