Mia & Josh

I don’t even know where to begin with this one, so I guess I’ll start at the beginning—15 years old, callused hands, many laughs, and pole-vaulting practice. That’s where I met Josh, the groom. We trained at the same facility and became fast friends. He was that guy—warm, magnetic, endlessly kind, and always laughing. My mom and I still jokingly call him President Josh, because honestly? If he ever ran for office, we’d vote for him based solely on his kindness and ability to connect with literally anyone.

Fast forward eleven years, and I get a message from the President himself. He’s engaged and wants me to photograph his wedding! I wish you could’ve seen my face—shock, excitement, gratitude—all of it. But the best part? That feeling only deepened when I hopped on a call and met his fiancée, Mia.

Let me tell you about Mia. She was everything you could hope for in a bride and a human being. Graceful, grounded, radiant, and kind—just talking to her made it clear that Josh had found someone truly extraordinary. She lit up when she spoke about her family, and it was clear how much she valued the people around her. Within minutes, I wasn’t just excited to photograph their wedding—I was honored to be part of their story.

Then the wedding day came, and wow. Mia was just as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. The love and support from every single guest created an atmosphere that was warm, sentimental, and deeply moving. From the emotional first looks to the laughter-filled dance floor, every moment was soaked in joy. And honestly? It made perfect sense. When two people are as genuinely good as Josh and Mia, they attract the kind of love that surrounds, supports, and lifts them up.

Photographing their day felt less like a job and more like telling the story of two best friends deeply in love, cheered on by a village that adores them. Every photo holds a piece of that story—the quiet glances, the big laughs, the hugs from family, and those heart-melting “just married” smiles. I’ll never stop being grateful that they trusted me to freeze those fleeting moments into something that will live on forever.

Josh and Mia, thank you for the reminder of why I do what I do. Your love is a light, and your day was a masterpiece. I hope these photos make you smile every anniversary, and I can’t wait to cheer you on as your story continues to unfold.

With so much love and gratitude,

SJ
